Where to begin? Old fashioned company stuck in 1998. They do not pay employees fairly (or treat them fairly). Senior leaders earn 10x more than the people actually making the company money—yet it is quite obvious to everyone that the most senior leaders don’t do any work themselves and rather sit back and collect a pay check. There is no open communication and it is a top down hierarchy that proves inefficient. President and managers think they know what is best, when they have only worked at this one small 35 person company for the last 15+ years. They refuse to listen to their employees, embrace positive change, improve their culture for the better, or acknowledge their crazy turn over problem (almost every single one of the new hires in recent years have left). Poor training and learning opportunities and no real room for advancement. They insist there are immediate growth opportunities for those who work hard and are loyal to the senior leader, but that is false. There are no real areas for growth due to everyone quitting and lack of resources. Leadership won’t invest in the most important asset a company posses—it’s people. They treat every employee as expendable and do not bat an eyelash when a good employee, who produces results, leaves. Last but not least, a complete boys club who only take care of their own. Only hire and promote those who are similar to them.
