Pros

Lately, I have had a pretty good experience at Rewards Network (but that wasn't always the case). When I joined the company there were a lot of negative people, rude/controlling managers(s), big egos, lots of opinions and very little direction. We said “yes” to way more than we should have and as a result did a lot of work but very poorly. We were told to work hard and work late hours (a member of senior leadership even joked about how we need to “bop” folks on the head to sit down when people ‘popped' up from their desks at 5PM like Whack-A-Mole—even handed out inflatable hammers to managers… hilarious, right? That person is no longer here, FWIW). When we said things couldn’t be done we were told “that’s not an option.” Not a fun place to work when it’s like that. For one reason or another, the vast majority of those people are gone and my work efficiency has improved drastically because of it. We might have fewer people now but I actually feel like we get more work done. As of 2015, IMO, there are some strong people who want to do what’s right: focus on clients and sales. We work well with each other and want to add value to our clients’ businesses. Every day we have to make hard decisions about what to do and have to say “no” a lot more. I think we have a solid foundation and are moving things in the right direction again.

Cons

Things aren’t perfect. We can’t do things the way we always use to. We have to find new ways to do things, do it simpler and faster. We need to focus on fixing a lot of junk that our predecessors didn’t fix and and then start investing in growth and new products. Enable sales to help clients and so they have to do less busy work. PTO policy is not great, it’s not very competitive compared to other companies (you can take some vacation time… if you don’t get sick. If you get sick then you have to choose between vacation time and the holidays).

Pros

Ability to run your own business with support of a company behind you. High earning potential if you are a real hunter, professional salesperson, and self-motivated. Great people to work with and great product to sell. Excellent benefits and higher than norm 401k matching. Unlimited PTO but need to hit your numbers - it's a sales role, after all! What else would you expect?

Cons

Working with restaurants is fun but challenging too.
