Pros

most people there have been there so long they have forgot what its like in the real world. they complain about everything. the pay is above average, the benefits are better than most. (it sucks everywhere) provide tools, clothes, and boots.

Cons

very little training, they expect you to know everything. they have no problem working you to death. 16 hours a day, then throw a few callouts on you just for fun. its a messy, muddy, ashy, stinky, filthy, hot, steamy, greasy place to work. they never spent enough to maintain the systems to be safe or reliable. because of the working conditions most employees are miserable. they know whats best for you, every single person has to wear hot flame/ ark resistant clothing. now its heat stroke time... you can rest when you die.

Pros

The shift supervisor role consists of busy days with a lot of varying priorities. You are responsible for emissions regulation, work permits, specialized permits, managing changing plant conditions, and administrative personnel requirements. This can be a high-octane role but has a more relaxed period on night shift and when outages aren't occurring (planned shutdowns for maintenance). Expect to drive plant performance and employee development. Many opportunities for professional and personal development if you put the time in.

Cons

The plant culture will play a huge role in your quality of life, since most of your time will be at the plant. This can be good or bad. Quite a few managers do not engage or develop personnel due to various qualities. You will have to do the leg work in fostering a change for personnel development.
