Pros

-Some hardworking employees who do their best despite the conditions. -Site HR tries to help, but they are limited by terrible leadership. -A paycheck (but that’s about it).

Cons

-Toxic Management & Unfair Treatment: Leadership plays favorites, fosters cliques, and fails to follow the company values they claim to uphold. Instead of leading by example, they create a culture of fear, dishonesty, and distrust. -Unsafe Work Environment: Outdated infrastructure and ignored safety concerns make the workplace hazardous. Leadership refuses to invest in necessary upgrades. -Group of toxic employees that lie about others. -Disconnect Between Corporate & Hourly Employees: Corporate has no understanding of or concern for the struggles of hourly workers. Their decisions are completely out of touch with reality. -Understaffed & Overworked: Site management runs shifts with too few employees (not by choice), creating excessive stress and burnout. -Ineffective Leadership: Even site HR, while well-intentioned, is powerless under the poor leadership that refuses to implement real change. -Filthy conditions.

Maintaining work-life balance can be challenging during peak outage seasons due to extended hours and frequent travel

Pros

The shift supervisor role consists of busy days with a lot of varying priorities. You are responsible for emissions regulation, work permits, specialized permits, managing changing plant conditions, and administrative personnel requirements. This can be a high-octane role but has a more relaxed period on night shift and when outages aren't occurring (planned shutdowns for maintenance). Expect to drive plant performance and employee development. Many opportunities for professional and personal development if you put the time in.

Cons

The plant culture will play a huge role in your quality of life, since most of your time will be at the plant. This can be good or bad. Quite a few managers do not engage or develop personnel due to various qualities. You will have to do the leg work in fostering a change for personnel development.
