Thank you for sharing your experience, and for shining a spotlight on your awesome colleagues. We agree – and we’re grateful to everyone on the Reworld™ team who is working hard to make a difference. Waste can indeed be dirty – which is why we go to great lengths to ensure that our handling of it is done with the utmost health and safety in mind. We are always seeking better ways to do things, from pioneering new solutions to finding better (and cleaner) ways to execute those solutions. So, we would love to hear any insights or suggestions for improvement you might have, and we hope you will submit them to your supervisor. Thank you again.

Pros

The shift supervisor role consists of busy days with a lot of varying priorities. You are responsible for emissions regulation, work permits, specialized permits, managing changing plant conditions, and administrative personnel requirements. This can be a high-octane role but has a more relaxed period on night shift and when outages aren't occurring (planned shutdowns for maintenance). Expect to drive plant performance and employee development. Many opportunities for professional and personal development if you put the time in.

Cons

The plant culture will play a huge role in your quality of life, since most of your time will be at the plant. This can be good or bad. Quite a few managers do not engage or develop personnel due to various qualities. You will have to do the leg work in fostering a change for personnel development.
