Pros

The employees of the company are great. There are a number of individuals who I got along with very well, and they made the days easier to navigate and kept my head up when management started showing signs of breaking down. The pay is good, assuming they actually pay you what they advertise. This is by no means a guarantee with Rhythm so be vigilant if you decide to step into this company.

Cons

Management across all disciplines is tough to work with, particularly the owner of the company. He is a well-intentioned individual and highly intelligent, but is extremely difficult to work for. Goalposts move on a daily basis, expectations are outrageous, and no matter how many times you tell him the sky is blue, if he thinks the sky is orange, the sky is orange. There's no reasoning. He will chew you out personally in company-wide meetings, he'll make false statements with so much conviction it's astonishing, and he will fight you tooth and nail on your compensation so that you end up with as little as possible. The company is a falling knife. Each person that is hired on believes they'll be able to catch it and turn it around, but as time passes, each come to realize that they're only going to get cut. In the little over a year that I was employed with this company, the turnover rate was roughly 20%. For reference, a rough estimate on turnover for these companies where almost all roles are key roles should be comfortably under 10% If you do decide to work at this company, here's my advice: get as much of a signing bonus as you can, keep your head down and work there for a year and gain some industry experience. Say "yes sir" to everything, even if it's an insane request, you'll get punished if you push back on anything.

Pros

Exciting Technology that is being deployed in a wide variety of locations. The company was started in 2008 and is already making waves in a historically slow to change industry. The people who end up staying here are dedicated and motivated to do what they do and make an impact. The option to take on a high level of responsibility is great for any career. There was recently a management change. This has reduced inter-company political instability to a large degree (You can see from other reviews that there was a fair amount of that). 2015 is a BIG product development year for us and it is good to see the new management stabilizing the R&D pipeline. This is a sales driven company so we have profits to back up our technology. We also just moved into a pretty cool office in order to better handle the growth of the company from an employee and technology sense. I expect the growth to continue for quite some time. The people are all very friendly.

Cons

It seems that management choices made in the past have not optimized growth and left some bad tastes in peoples mouth. If you do not have an entrepreneurial mentality and are not driven to make an impact in peoples lives, then this isn't for you.
