Pros

Insurance Benefit Packages, Remote Opportunities

Cons

If you don't have much ambition to further your career, you'll probably fit in just fine within the Finance department. If you're a woman - beware! Management consists of men who are micromanagers and suppress women who are ambitious to further their career. It does not matter how many times you voice your thoughts/frustrations/concerns - they will fall on death ears. You will be held in the same position without growth opportunities, even when you try to create on your own. Micro-managing is a common practice by management; not allowing you to be creative, have a voice, or be recognized for improvements. There are several toxic individuals within the department who have been with the company a while now. Their toxic behavior is continually accepted and never addressed. The company has recently implemented a new policy in which you cannot receive a promotion unless you've been in your role three years or more FYI. Several strong, smart, driven women have left this department within the past year, but that still will not be a red flag to management. To sum it up, if you like STATUS QUO and being micro-managed, then a role at Richardson Electronics Finance Department is for you.

Pros

Richardson does a very good job of taking care of their employees in terms of compensation, benefits, and the breakfast and lunches are a huge perk! I really enjoy all the people I work with here, it is one of the first places I have worked at where turnover is very low because it really is a great place to work in the manufacturing world.

Cons

The overall company structure is fairly "flat" and therefore can be confusing when dealing with other departments because you have a lot of managers and people that act as a "manager" even when they're not. But you figure out "who's who" fairly quickly.
