Directors and above are so intoxicated with their own power that they're more concerned about their headcount than strategic alignment, leaving middle management and below feeling like pawns in an inexplicable game of chess. Incestual hiring practices caused an influx of "ex-uber" personnel to congest leadership positions and infect the company's direction and culture with the same tactics that built that unprofitable and scandalous transportation giant. Company engaged in a series of M&A with what, I can only imagine, was a total absence of strategy, causing exponential operational complexity with no clear accountability of who will fix it. I guess they're telling people to give five star reviews on their last day of orientation now, because the recent positive reviews are completely removed from the actual work environment.
