Pros

I see no "Pros" with working for Rimkus.

Cons

I was employed with Rimkus for many years. Management at Rimkus has changed significantly recently but not for the better. Upper and middle management do not care for the employees as they previously did. Current management only really cares about profits and looking good to investors. The current management profile is that of a "good ole boys club". If you're not one of the "good ole boys", then it's a very cut throat environment with very little chance for growth. The atmosphere at Rimkus is very toxic, stressful, and lacks diversity. This is all due to the current management.

We’re sorry to hear that you had a negative experience while employed at Rimkus. Rest assured, that’s the opposite of our desired outcome for any employee. Without a skilled team, a productive team, a motivated team….no organization can be successful in the long term. While it’s true that Rimkus management has changed over the years, it’s not true that we value profit over people. We care deeply about the well-being and satisfaction of our employees. In business, there’s a slogan: “Take care of your employees, and they will take care of your customers.” At Rimkus, we take that outlook to heart in every decision we make. Not only is the perceived “good old boy” network a relic of the past, but so is the idea that Rimkus lacks diversity. Never before have we hired and promoted a greater number of females, minorities, and LGBTQ workers into technical and management roles. Our commitment to diversity is a priority at Rimkus, and so is providing an environment where employees feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and valued. We aren’t perfect—no. But there are plenty of “Pros” to being part of the Rimkus team. Thank you for your service to our company. Wishing you the very best in your professional endeavors.

Pros

They pay bus development managers above average

Cons

I was hired for business development but was set up to fail. I was asked to tell customers we provide full-service engineering in South Florida, even though we didn’t have the staff, no electrical engineer and no Threshold Engineer, needed for the work. Many structural projects in the area require a Threshold Engineer, yet I was told to mislead clients about our capabilities. Immediately after starting, I learned my manager was interviewing. The company operates on a shoestring budget. There is no money to sponsor customer events or trade shows outside the Northeast, where they’ve acquired two engineering firms in the past five years. The BES division is barely surviving, while Forensics is doing well, but overall, lack of resources and poor planning make it very hard to succeed here, especially when your boss is vigorously interviewing to leave.
