- The Rio "culture" is a guise. They try to present as cool and laid-back, but that's simply not the case. It is rife with nepotism and corporate conventions. If you are not a relative of upper management, you are replaceable.
- I volunteered to help with DEIB efforts. The company relies completely on volunteer efforts in this area and couldn't care less to take an active position. They will shell out their dollars to make it appear so, though. Again, it is all for appearance.
- Salaried employees are treated very differently from hourly employees. Salaried employees seem to be protected, while hourly are expected to follow a more rigid and unspoken set of rules.
- Employee performance reviews cannot be relied upon to gauge your job security. I was led to believe my performance was great, only to be let go without warning in a large group of firings.
