Pros

You work with some good ppl. You do get a discount but rarely have enough time off to use it.

Cons

They do not care about their employees as they say they do. The employee promise is just a facade as much of the Ritz Carlton mystique is. So much drama and politics. You either know someone, you play the game, or you're so far up your managers you know what that you can't tell where you begin and they end. Gossip gossip gossip. Everyone talks about everyone, employees about employees and employees about guests. Contradiction: at the front desk you have agents making different wages for the same job and they don't want you to discuss that. Then they go ahead and post the exact dollar amount each person sold in upgrades so anyone can do simple math and see exactly how much someone is making extra per month. Makes no sense and harbors bad competition instead of best practices but management only cares about hitting goals set by ppl who collect bonuses based on the hard work of everyone else.

Supportive team environment focused on guest satisfaction. Exposure to a diverse clientele from around the world. Clear service standards and expectations. Valuable experience in communication, problem-solving, and multitasking. Opportunities for internal advancement within hospitality and customer service roles. Cons

Fast-paced environment that can be stressful during peak seasons. High expectations for service and attention to detail. Heavy call volume during busy periods. Schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Staffing shortages can occasionally increase workload. Limited flexibility in procedures due to luxury brand standards. Advancement opportunities may vary by location, not department. Balancing multiple guest requests at once can be challenging.

Pros

Support from leadership and corporate. Encouraged to do whatever needed to problem solve, which was appreciated.

Cons

After Covid, management became slightly disorganized and not as friendly, or helpful as before.
