Pros

great brand, quick competent teams in place, good training, great benefits (esp. hotel stays), great ladies and gentlemen, great company if you are in sales. all other disciplines are secondary. if you are liked you get promoted. Senior leadership is experienced, approachable, likeable and stand up leaders. Most having an amazing presence.

Cons

very north american centric company, solutions often only work in the US, limited resources, never enough budget, shortcuts galore, shoddy product (when compared to competitors (four seasons, mandarin). if you aren't liked, you get demoted to second tier city hotels (St. louis, dearborn, cleveland or worse, intl cess pool cities that no one will ever visit you at: sharm el sheiky). Recent public reorg with marriott has realigned most of the corporate team (hr, loss prevention, ops, finance and soon sales/marketing ) positions are being reviewed and corporate culuture is at at an alltime low. All "original" RC employees are confident this is the beginining of the end for this great brand as Marriott will take it over and treat it just like one of their other brands.
