Pros
- Good basic salary compared to other similar jobs in the market - no requirements for extended hours or overtime - Great team of people
Cons
- no incentives to over-perform - Annual reviews have no reflection on your performance for the past year. - zero incentives to work weekends and public holidays to cover illness, shortages or shifts. - Low yearly bonus -> RSU's which vest over 4 years but the actual amount of RSU's awarded equate to a extremely small percentage bonus compared to year base salary. - Lower level management have no idea how to actually manage, support and develop their staff - Management perform no consultation and discussion with engineers in basic team related decisions. - Senior management and directors have a delusional view of running a support organization with no structure in terms of L2 and L3 support staff. All Escalation Engineers perform a L2 and L3 function in a flat structure. - Politics seems to be the only method to be promoted rather then hard work and performing above and beyond. - No improvement in basic pay or conditions when promoted to Senior Escalation Engineer vs a regular Escalation Engineer
