Pros

Riveron provides employees with the opportunities to grow and develop in a culture that is entrepreneurial, inclusive, understanding, and fun. My interview process with Riveron lasted about 2 months, however in that time I had multiple interviews with professionals in the tax group and within the DC office. These interviews did not feel like interviews, but instead were conversations with people who took a genuine interest in getting to know me as a person and about my goals as a professional. The length and breadth of the interview process shows the investment that Riveron makes in insuring that everyone hires is a good fit. Since working at Riveron I've learned the definition of what it means to love your work. I am challenged and looked upon to act above my role, but unlike my time in big 4 firms, the work I do is appreciated and values. I have received opportunities that I would have had to wait seveal years to receive elsewhere. I am compensated well above what I would be receiving if I had stayed in my previous position and I am able to take on opportunities to fast advancement and growth within the firm. Being a part of Riveron's tax practice in particular has given me the change to get in on the ground floor of a developing practice and contribute to a group that is rapidly growing and willing to truly value my advice and perspectives. Joining the group has given me an extremely unique and valuable opportunity to expedite my career path. Overall my experience at Riveron has been fantastic and I would recommend the Company to anyone looking for a chance to continue to develop professional among a group of hardworking and entrepreneurial professionals who value the concept of work/life balance beyond just a tagline in a presentation .

Cons

Lower vacation and maternity leave than what hires are typically used to in the big 4. However, the environment is flexible and there are opportunities to take time as needed if you communicate with your team and prove to be a high performer

Pros

Decent swag and they have education stipends. Allows remote work which was very appreciated.

Cons

Too political and heavy on finger-pointing rather than collaboration. Blame often falls on inexperienced staff for issues beyond their control, while "who you know" (especially in the Texas office) dictates accountability. Additionally, the US team’s subconscious bias toward the India team creates a counterproductive and unwelcome environment. It ultimately feels like a fend-for-yourself environment. When performance is evaluated, support is limited unless you’ve already proven you can meet management’s demanding, often unrealistic, expectations. This makes it especially difficult for early-career professionals to learn and grow. The focus tends to be more on maximizing billable hours than on development or quality of work. In some cases, there has even been pressure from multiple managers to inflate timesheet entries to improve the appearance of performance and increase client billing, despite work being completed efficiently. These expectations were consistently communicated verbally rather than documented, raising serious ethical concerns and making the situation even more discouraging.
