Pros

- Benefits were great, and competitive for the area. - Research variety, as a scientist, you do something different every day.

Cons

-The job of a federal contractor is to understand customer problems, and how to solve them. Riverside's management does not really understand the nature of the problems, or their solution. In a perfect world, management would speak with their technical staff, and figure out a way forward that is best for the Government and the company. At Riverside Research, management ignores technical staff recommendations. Management bases research decisions off their interpretation of some buzz words some business guy saw on a slide at some conference two years ago. It is not a way to run a technically-minded company. - No one in upper management has the follow through to fix any issues with the company. Instead, they sit around, collect their paycheck, and let problems remain unfixed. - The HR department is filled with people who cannot do their job, and blame you (as the employee) for not doing it! - The company has a very high turnover rate, and has a hard time hiring qualified individuals. This problem is largely driven by poor management, but if affects lower-level employees who have the skills, and therefore must pick up the slack. - The CEO is terrible, and he as gotten worse throughout the years. He cannot communicate his desires, nor can he make a logical decision.

Thank you for taking your time to provide a thorough review of your time at Riverside Research. We agree that our technical employees receive new and exciting challenges each day. We strive to provide a comprehensive benefits package as well. We take the needs of our federal government customer(s) very seriously and place primary importance on solving the challenges they bring to us. That’s why we are so committed to reinvesting profits into research in our nonprofit business model. We are sorry to hear that you felt unheard when you provided recommendations to leadership as a technical staff member. We trust each and every employee to provide recommendations in line with their subject matter expertise, and take those expert opinions under serious consideration when problem-solving for our customers. As always, HR is open to specific feedback about the experiences of employees and former employees, and are receptive to the details and concerns of the feedback presented here.
