Pros

- Strong salary and benefits - Some solid peers - Decent work/life balance

Cons

- Leadership team that’s controlling but inexperienced, woefully out of their depth in trying to manage a unicorn and unwilling to evolve or grow up. - Egregious lack of accountability or focus on delivering results, laughably bad as to make you wonder if they are actively defrauding investors. - No coherent corporate vision of strategy, but lots of docs created by VP+ leaders that are barely coherent. I’ve seen new grads produce better work. - Culture of toxic positivity and fake niceness. - Inability to hire, grow, and develop teams that leads to frequent layoffs/firings. They conveniently scapegoat the employees they hired and disempowered, rather than recognize systemic and pervasive issues. - People team that has received consistently negative feedback and ignored it. Instead of making it a great place to work, they barrage employees with requests to fill out surveys saying it’s a great place to work.

Ro Response

Part of working at Ro (and most start-ups of our stage) means that the leaders are indeed very involved. That’s a reality of our culture and not something we see as a negative. We’re very proud of the caliber of our leaders and team at large and we (and our investors) feel incredibly excited about our mission and strategy. Delivering results and doing so with a big heart are integral parts of the Ro culture and our People Team, and broader leaders at Ro, are always open to feedback. In fact, there are many avenues to provide feedback and we are thankful to our team for continuing to be candid and invested in our culture and success. If you’d like to talk further about your experiences at Ro we’d love to learn more - feel free to reach out to people@ro.co and we’ll set up some time.

Pros

The pay and ability to work remotely. Also they let you use a lab top which is nice.

Cons

Favoritism. I hit all my metrics and then some, 174% over and yet my contract was not extended and they would not provide one reason why other than their blanket corporate statement.
