Free Qdoba food. Some good coworkers. Most are gone now though

I was told when I was hired that I could have a free Qdoba meal every day. A lot of the time someone would run out and get it for the whole office, but in my view, a way to make sure everyone works through their lunch hour (salaried). Some employees were too scared to ever take a lunch and are over worked. As well, a couple years in, I was told to not take lunch everyday because the company was over budget on corporate employee meals. They tell everyone they can have a free meal every day, don't budget for it, and then strongly urge their employee to stop partaking in one of the few perks at this company. We we never told we couldn't but had multiple times we were talked about it. Everyone is overworked. The higher ups preach how they are transparent, but frequently hide and disguise why employees are leaving so frequently. The funny thing is pretty much everyone knows when people are leaving and exactly why, but management believes it is all still hush hush. There is nowhere to move up. You are told there is great room for advancement and the company is growing. There is almost nowhere to advance, and any extra money seems to go into the CEO/President's pocket. I was frequently asked to do things completely outside of my scope of work and job description. Because I completed these tasks adequately, those things became part of my job description. More and more was added on to my plate and compensation only seems to come at times of desperation when trying to keep good workers, both at the store level and corporate level. Upper management seems to believe because they sell Qdoba products, they are as good as Qdoba. Not true, long ways to go and they are not what they believe to be.
