Pros

The hybrid schedule was one of the stronger aspects of the role, allowing employees to work from home two days a week while still maintaining in-office collaboration and team interaction. And the brand name recognition.

Cons

They ISM's are just words on a wall. The role is extremely metrics-driven, with performance heavily tied to monthly targets including Pre-Approvals, Verified Underwritten Approvals, and Folder Received metrics with no training once on the production floor. It's sink or swim. Once on the sales floor, support can become limited if performance declines, and there is significant pressure to self-correct quickly or risk termination after only 2 months below target. And once "put on letter" you can not under perform again. The expectations around workload are also substantial. To remain competitive, many bankers routinely work 60+ hour weeks, including evenings and weekends, in order to generate enough conversations, applications, and funded loans to meet production goals. Even with the effort required, success can still depend heavily on lead quality and market conditions. Another challenge is competitiveness in the marketplace. Rocket Mortgage is often one of the higher-cost lenders from a pricing perspective, while compensation for bankers can lag behind competitors in the industry, creating additional pressure when trying to convert rate-sensitive borrowers. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The culture is energetic, competitive, and highly sales-oriented, with a strong emphasis on pace, activity, and internal competition. The company invests heavily in branding, production value, and large-scale corporate events featuring high-profile entertainment and motivational experiences. There is also a noticeable emphasis on recruiting and promoting younger bankers, which can create a fast-moving environment that may appeal more to early-career sales professionals than seasoned industry veterans. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Most days revolve around continuous outbound and inbound sales activity, including call blocks, chat blocks, lead qualification, pipeline management, and follow-up with prospective borrowers. Success requires maintaining high activity levels throughout the day while balancing existing clients and new lead opportunities. One of the more difficult aspects of the role is that when performance begins to decline, lead flow and lead quality can appear to diminish as well, making it increasingly difficult to recover production numbers and regain momentum.

Pros

Licenses are paid for by the company The early trainings are effective Strong values that help set employees on the right path of actions professionally

Cons

"Limitless compensation" is oversold when there may not be ample opportunities to make a 6 figure income that they might promise. Work/Life Balance is a struggle as it is normal to assume 60+ hour weeks outside of internal sales competitions, and 70+ hour expectations during those periods The work culture can greatly vary based on your director and regional VP. Some are amazing, and care deeply. Others will throw you under the bus without second thought because you are easily replaceable.
