Pros

If you are driven individual with a level head, then Roquette can offer a world of opportunities. The company as a whole (on a global level) is never content with sitting idle... because of this, opportuniites and career growth can be had, as well as international travel. A change in upper management and the board are prompting the company to make serious positive changes in the recent months. Gurnee plant and Geneva office have great locations being in the Chicagoland area with access to all that Chicago and the surrounding area have to offer.

Cons

Being a French-based company, decisions are not always made as fast as you might like and can be a source of frustration. If you can understand the cultural differences, then you could be a good fit. Keokuk plant and office locations are located in a town that has a dwindling population, and is about 1 hour from decent shopping and dining. Because of this, bringing external talent in is difficult.

Pros

Great products prior to entering soluble fiber and protein. Dominated the confectionery space, literally untouchable for very good reasons. Very differentiated corn syrups, syrup solids and maltodextrin. Very knowledgeable team in France, capable of solving any challenge. Mastered use of their ingredients in pharma, food and industry.

Cons

Company got lost with the challenges in fiber and protein. HQ team does not like bad news or to be challenged on ideas. Canada plant came online when pea protein market imploded. Many talented and capable employees left. Unprofessional behaviors go unchecked.
