Pros

Paid training, straight forward work, systems to use for speed, reliable to give breaks, discount at home store day 1, stay busy so day goes by fast, two 15 minute breaks on top of lunch, weekly payout, good 20% discount year round with double discount periods, gives you time during shift to put up hangers/merchandise before shift over

Cons

Low pay, stressful, easy to get fired, timed 5 seconds between scans regardless of customer’s attentiveness, must take off hanger - security device - scan & bag before 5 seconds, payment device with chime at you if you take too long, constantly busy, only 30 minutes for break, will page you over speaker if late from break, small messy break room, no discount card for other locations until 2 pay periods, constantly checking your bags, frequent stolen items, rude customers, quick to take off register, must put up hangers and return merchandise before leaving, 5 minutes or more late is a point, two points for weekends, double for holidays, 3 points get disciplinary action, 5 you’re fired

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
