Pros

-Good discount -window shopping while working -management is nice -coworkers are generally nice

Cons

Wow, this place is a craphole! I was so happy to have gotten hired here, but within the first week, I was already looking for another job. Training was VERY general. I had to ask SO many questions because they don't cover everything. I still haven't even learned how to sell gift cards. And instead of just showing me, they take the customer from me. Very annoying! The pay is extremely low. I got hired in with another girl and we're both already looking for jobs and want to quit. Recovering is a B, for real. People don't clean after themselves, and closing shifts are just HORRIBLE. The store closes at 10 and we're sometimes off as late as 12! Sometimes not even finishing recovering, but we got to go. On my 3rd day, they had me close the kids section by myself! It was beyond overwhelming and the supervisor kept checking in on me and critiquing my work, but not really giving any real direction on how to handle the huge mess! I was ready to just walk out. Just the other day, I had to close literally a third of the store by myself, while other people got small sections. Some days I don't even try because it's useless, it will get messy anyways. It is also extremely awkward having to do go backs and putting away panties and bras. I'm a guy, so I always feel uncomfortable and feel like I'm getting dirty looks. There is no challenge to the work you do. You just do very basic things, but in very high volumes. And some of the other employees were even telling me horror stories about christmas. Like super long lines, mountains of clothes, and even stories of people relieving themselves in the store because bathroom likes are too long. And when I say how they could deal with it, one girl said "That's retail." THAT is not retail, I worked retail before and it was never as bad as this. I'm so ready to quit and want the least amount of hours as possible. Every day I go in, I seriously feel like a little bit of myself has died. DO NOT work here! Very bad place to work!

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
