Pros

The management was very understanding of my situation as a working mom, and worked with me when I may have had scheduling issues. At one point I had a family issue come up and I was allowed to take a week off with short notice. They also put an emphasis on employee ideas to make things better, which made me feel like part of the bigger picture.

Cons

Sometimes the customers bordered on the unsavory side so I had to always look out for theft, which may be an issue that all retail stores unfortunately must deal with. There was a definate pattern of new hires not lasting, but the employees who were long term were there for years.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
