Pros

Employee Double Discount / Leaving the store/ Not too many pros to list .....

Cons

Overly micromanaged Questionable Integrity as a company No clear training but harsh consequences for not knowing High Turnover Stressful/Drama filled environment Restructuring of jobs from top down Very unorganized chaotic company. So many conference calls No true value in employees No incentive to make employees to stay over a few months. Inconsistency in company's practices from HR department to DM's and individual stores. A lot of personal tactics instead of abiding by legal employment laws. Too long of hours should be illegal. Not a place to grow any career. Too many outside mgrs of all levels brought in instead of hiring from within like they promote as their company's practice. Lack of training and exposure to next leveled positions so moving up in a full time role rarely happens unless store ia strained for leadership then ppl will be pushed into higher roles with no hands on training. Outdated practices. No fax machines or Microsoft Word. Only way to type is thru email if needed. No real store Security so theft is a norm in all stores but its a measure of performance stores are graded on which is ridiculous. There is no need for Stores to stay open past 9/10 pm. Especially in shopping center when we're often the only store open in lot. Foot traffic dies down about 9/9:30 no need to be open past this time. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. Company wants you to eat, breath, and live at Ross. Overall, worst management experience and company to work for.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
