Cons
i am a VERY hard worker, one that will get my work done in half the time as anyone else, I pride myself in everything I do. However, I will tell you working here definitley taught me a big lesson: Dont work hard for companies that treat you like dirt. A lot of times I walk away from this job at the end of the night feeling totally used...I work SOOOO hard and get so little in return. Then looking at my pay check it is really depressing all that hard work for so little. Here in texas minimum wage is 7.50 i think the most I seen my paycheck was 266, Ive been there for about 8 months. I should have applied to be a janitor at some other company b/c i'd get paid a LOT more do the same type of work. (mind you, associate also have to clean up bodily fluids as well) I dont need a thank you but at least reward me with more hours. 1. hours: your hours will fluctuate. i have my availability open for 5 to 6 days a week yet sometimes I will only work on weekends giving me (if i am lucky 16 hrs). I had an ENTIRE MONTH were I only worked weekends. 2. They hire like crazy!!! do not get to comfortable if you start getting a lot of hours because they will hire 10 people at a time, which means YOUR hours will be CUT. (mind you half of these people will quit within the next month which I dont blame them) I work my tail off every night, I even cleaned the entire store BY MYSELF oon two separate occasions at night when I used to work on the sales floor and that is how I am treated. After that night i no longer busted my tail while working here. They pay mimimum wage and they TRULY deserve mimimum effort by their employees 3. Employee of the month: is done by a drawing. They draw a card and whoever name is pulled is employee of the month which really ticks me off bc I feel it should be given to the person who works the hardest not because of luck. 4. They do not put enough people on the schedule to work. This means that you will be overworked running all over the store. If your on the sales floor (cleaning up) you will also have to run racks (taking clothes from the fitting room to the floor) and being called to the register. Working in the front end, you will have to check customers out, make sure lines do not get to long, make change, answer phones and greet customers. I had phones ringing, people to check out and my manager said dont forget to greet customers, I was like I got enough to do already!!! 5 Worst of all: Loss Prevention gets paid about a 1.00 more then the associates. All they do is stand there, we do the slaving and deal with the angry customeres. after the store closes they sit in the front (and get paid) and do nothing while everyone else scrambles to clean up the store. This is by far what is leading me to find another job....If you apply here apply for Loss prevention, you barely do anything and get paid more.
