Pros

Financially stable company with good benefits especially with the extra days off around the holidays.

Cons

Lots of busy work that don’t go anywhere. Directors and above are difficult to work with because they are too comfortable with their way of doing things and are not open to new ideas. You have to be very careful with what you say to them because they’ll make a big deal out of something minute and tell leadership which can hurt someone’s career. Their interactions with their direct reports is rude, demeaning and sometimes culturally inappropriate. Their interactions with leadership is the opposite. There is little to no accountability with how some directors and above treat their direct reports even if several associates have escalated the issue to leadership and HR. Work/life balance is worse since WFH. You can work 10 hours straight without a lunch break and your director is still demanding more out of you. Recognition is not sincere and feedback is more demotivating than constructive.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.

Pros

Even though this is with my store specifically I got really lucky with my coworkers. Every season change there is 40% off for about a week other than that is 20%. They also have scholarship opportunities.

Cons

It’s a really physical job, sometimes it’s so busy that you can’t even take a break especially during Christmas season, you WILL debate working there during that time. The store hours are horrible and since most of the time were understaffed we won’t leave until almost midnight just cleaning up.
