I would first like to address your feeling that wages are stagnant. We are acutely aware that our employees are feeling the pressure of higher prices at the gas pump, grocery store, and retail outlets. Our leadership and human resource teams constantly monitor market data to ensure that we are providing our employees fair and competitive wages when benchmarked against companies our size in the industries we serve. We compare employees’ total compensation package, which includes both wages and benefits. So while you might not feel wages are not increasing at a fast enough rate, we have increased employees’ total compensation package by taking on a greater burden of increased health care costs to keep employees’ out of pocket expenses very low compared to industry averages and recently increased our employer 401(k) contributions. Thank you, also, for your input regarding opportunities for advancement. In the past several years we been extremely proactive in working with department leaders and managers to create career development plans and training for their employees. Your leader can point you to the tools put in place to help you explore your careers interests and opportunities in the company. Data indicates that American workers who participate in an upskilling program earn more per year than those who do not take advantage of opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills. In recognition of this fact, Roush offers over 3,000 on-line training modules in addition to their on-site technical and professional development training. We also provide a tuition reimbursement program to support employees’ goals of improving their skill sets.
