Pros

EMT partners and coworkers are great.

Cons

Royal was once a great company to work for. They gave EMT’s bonuses for hitting a certain number of calls, paid them fair overtime, and generally honored scheduling needs. Well, the bonus is now given to dispatch only, who receive higher pay than EMT’s (!), Everyone at the company is "Disposable" EMTs are treated no better than dixi cups. And if you are *Lucky* enough to make it to operations, it's only a matter of time until you are fired or forced to resign. The company doesn't like to keep employees around for too long. If you are looking for your first EMS job, there are many better options.

Pros

Good way to get basic EMT experience. Able to expand on that doing CCT or ALS transfers with medics and nurses. Good place to start a career in EMS or healthcare if you use it as a platform to jump from. The good news is they embrace this.

Cons

Basic IFT transports. Usually nothing too crazy can let your skills go soft.
