Pros

If you are not sales, you have more of a chance of a work/life balance.

Cons

The work culture here is very spiteful. Every place of work has its politics, but the politics here are more severe here than any other place I have worked at. They do not treat their people well and it shows (many of the employees report having the feelings they do about the company because management will berate them as though they are not adults and it is perceived as an abuse of power). It is not uncommon for management and HR to say one thing to you and do the complete opposite. They also consistently make promises that they do not live up to while claiming to have never made statements they blatantly made. BEWARE: they guarantee a salary that they cannot and do not provide. If retention is any indication of work culture, this place would be rated very low. Nearly a dozen left within the span of 5 months.

With over 400 employees we actually have very high retention comparative to other businesses in our industry and size. Our average manager has been with the company for over 20 years and we believe in only promoting from within. We recognize that some individuals are not able/wiling to carry out our vision and we respectfully want to have this sort of feedback so that we can make sure that our employees are productive AND they enjoy their work. We are very concerned about your comments and we would like to get more specific information from you about your experience so we can make sure that others don't feel this way too. Please contact me at feedback@royaltucson.com with more details.

Pros

- Biggest pro is being non-commissioned sales, takes the pressure away from the customer and the salesperson. Car salesmen are typically regarded as trying to take advantage of the customer to get more commissions, you take that away and it really changes the environment. - The managers I had the pleasure of working with wanted you to get better and better, and they were willing to help as long as you were willing to put the effort. - I was 21 when I got the job, youngest sales consultant at the time, making a pretty decent salary. Plus, I got to learn a lot about the industry whilst gaining sales experience.

Cons

- Long hour days are not uncommon. You might be scheduled to leave at 4:30 and end up staying until the end of the day. BUT, it meant you had a customer, and you were doing business, so it is not necessarily a bad thing. Unless you have other commitments, or you really don't like to stay longer than scheduled, that could be the only issue. - Sometimes there was pressure, as in any other business, to work harder. But if you were doing what your managers and team leaders constantly suggest, you should not have a problem keeping a healthy pipeline of customers.
