Great way to jump start a career in pharma - Fellow Rutgers University Employee Review

Pros

The Fellowship is a great way for PharmD holders to break into the pharma industry. Fellows often train under senior leaders in various depts, which can be the first step to a much stronger career than starting out from the bottom of the sales organization or in the call center

Cons

Some fellowships are better than others, and some partner companies are better than others. the best way to decide which position to go for is as follows: 1. Traditional PharmD role VS more tangential? e.g. Medical affairs/Regulatory affairs VS competitive intelligence, marketing 2. Large, established company VS smaller newer company? (for the confident and/or prepared, go for the biggest best ones; for those with a weaker CV, go for a smaller company)

Pros

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Cons

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
