Pros

100+ research labs to choose from 1 hour away from the Jersey shore, the Pennsylvania wilderness, Philadelphia, and New York City New iJOBS career training program

Cons

I had little to no career advice while in the UMDNJ Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Luckily they just received a 5 year BEST grant from the NIH to start the iJOBS program to address this. As with any large university, it is easy to slip between the cracks unnoticed. Self-motivation and building an effective mentor relationship are both vital to not becoming a 7+ year graduate student.

Pros

Good pay, really great opportunity to get more job experience and the people there are very nice.

Cons

Hours! If your schedule doesn't fit the available slots, you might not get enough hours on your permanent schedule. But the supervisors were always very accommodating.

Pros

It was cool, got to meet some nice people who are now working in big tech. Work load was calm and never stressed.

Cons

Not many, had a lot of flexibility and they trusted me to get the work done.
