Pros
I was an employee of SAP Labs India. This is my favourite. If you are very particular about work environment, this is the company for you. Some key points. 1. Very flexible work timing. You can follow your own work timing. 2. Acurate time recording. Very transperant. 3. No hierarchies. I joined with no relevant experience - fimilar to fresher. I did not get a feeling for a moment that I am junior. Every people is very approachable. 4. Team mates are very keen on sharing their knowledge. This would have been dificult if this time is included in your deliverable and you have to answer why did you consume more time for the deliverable. You always record accurate time here. 5. You plan your vacation and avail leave. In many organization it is only in paper you hardly get it. 6. You take the ownership of your own work item. You are valued much as developer. Developer gives estimate of time and effort of development. It is not like your manager/ lead agreed upon a timeline while you are unaware of it. 7. Many employee benefits/ perks. 8. Very good recognition procedures. 9. Sick leave-not unlimited, but you can avail it. In many other organizations you can find noise around your place about an employee who is on sick leave. Manager/ Lead doubts if the employee is really sick. 10. You can get very fast growth. I got two promotions in three years. I have seen very young leaders in Labs - and they really deserve such positions. 11. 360 degree appraisal. I even had a say on my new manager selection. Regular meetings with management/ manager where you can say your concern. Those gets addressed. You will easily find that your employer is very friendly. 12. Plan your career. Share your development plans and excute your plans to grow. Management will support you as much as they can.
Cons
You own your career in Labs. You may not find you are forced to do some thing. You need to take the responsibilit of your work and deliver it. You may thrive well with less work, availing all benefits etc- at the end you are the loser.
