Pros

SAP field sales reps can make significant money. I've known several reps who made $2m in one year.

Cons

SAP Sales Management promotes a "mean girl" culture. If you're in the clique, you get assigned wonderful opportunities and can make significant money. If you're not in the clique, you get to create new opportunities on your own, but it's best to hide them from the head of sales of your group/. The head of the clique can not wait to reassign that opportunity and income to one of her followers. If you're talent is to be 90% inwardly focused on internal politics and currying favor from internal power brokers, this is an ideal environment. If you're 90% customer focused, watch your back.

Pros

The people at SAP are genuinely nice, and the culture is generally supportive. The work-life balance is good to an extent, but when you're busy, you're BUSY. SAP is highly complex so expect to take a year to ramp up.

Cons

Only way to get a high salary is if you're hired externally. They do not reward employees who are loyal to the company. Closed opportunities often have to go through the Compensation Exception Committee, creating uncertainty around earnings. Prepare for constant change, whether that's solutions being removed from your sales bag, account shifts, territory realignments, or changing compensation policies. Quotas can be difficult to attain
