Pros

In general, SAP America is a good work place that takes care of its employees and provides good benefits. The HR policies are good, as long as they are not bent by the sub-groups in the organization.

Cons

The management has a very technical background(basis) and does not understand the complexities of business processes. As a result, overemphasis is given on taking traces, and unnecessary technical analysis during services. Service reports have a rigid structure, and requires collection of data that is very very manual intensive and documentation/processes that do not make any sense. As a result, the consultant is tied up with the nitty gritties of the reporting instead of providing value. No investment on training, improving knowledge in areas that are not technical.

Pros

The people at SAP are genuinely nice, and the culture is generally supportive. The work-life balance is good to an extent, but when you're busy, you're BUSY. SAP is highly complex so expect to take a year to ramp up.

Cons

Only way to get a high salary is if you're hired externally. They do not reward employees who are loyal to the company. Closed opportunities often have to go through the Compensation Exception Committee, creating uncertainty around earnings. Prepare for constant change, whether that's solutions being removed from your sales bag, account shifts, territory realignments, or changing compensation policies. Quotas can be difficult to attain
