great company on paper, for certain people - Senior Software Engineer SAS Employee Review

Pros

Some get great work life balance, others are expected to work to 2-3am regularly for deadlines. 35 hour work week is great on paper, except your manager may require you to work 45 or more

Cons

I could not recommend to anyone who is not from the USA, and/or who doesn't follow mainstream lifestyles/religions for the area. If you don't follow mainstream religions/lifestyles, expect to run into problems with things like benefits. Being lawfully married isn't enough. Expect to get asked questions unrelated to the civil/legal part, so someone can decide whether your lawful marriage is valid enough for benefits based on requirements that are not disclosed before/after hiring. Expect to run into issues if you have a step child who is directly related to your spouse but hasn't been formally adopted by you, or basically anything else that doesn't fit into a 1950's view of a family unit.

Pros

Benefits: health coverage, on-site gym, childcare, healthcare center, and more. Work-life balance: predictable hours, flexibility for parents and a culture that doesn't expect you to grind 60-hour weeks.

Cons

Compensation lags the market, slow career advancement and promotions can take years. Change-resistant culture and new ideas move slowly. Leadership team manages up to just one person.
