Pros

Mission oriented. Most people really do care about the not-for-profit mission. Generous PTO plan with random additional days provided here and there

Cons

Too many ideas. It’s impossible to execute everything all at once. Company is slowly pulling people back to the office even though company is hitting it’s goals. This is supposedly the CEO’s goal But, the company continues to hire high level execs that lives far away. They aren’t part of the new mandatory collaboration days.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to address your “work from home” concern. SCAN’s commitment to our employees’ health and well-being is first and foremost. SCAN currently has four work modes (fully remote, mostly remote, fully onsite, and mostly onsite). For our mostly onsite employees we offer “collaboration days” on Tuesdays and Wednesdays that allow teams to have face-to-face interaction with each other and with other teams across the organization—and the response has been extremely positive. If an employee would like to change their work mode, we encourage them to reach out to their supervisor to discuss. You can also reach out to HR at peoplerelations@scanhealthplan.com.

Pros

The location is decent enough, and the commute did not make things worse than they already were.

Cons

- There is a very clear in group culture in the office, and if you are not included from day one, you are immediately at a disadvantage. - People stick to the same lunch groups every day with the same conversations, and if you are outside of that circle, you are simply left observing. - Getting basic work answers can become unnecessarily difficult because information tends to circulate only within informal groups that are never openly shared. - Effort and performance do not seem to matter much compared to social placement within the office hierarchy, which appears to be decided almost immediately during onboarding. - Management acts as if none of this exists, even though it is felt constantly by anyone outside those circles.
