Pros

None whatsoever, this is not an exaggeration.

Cons

Southeastern Computer Consultants, Inc. (SCCI), headquartered in Frederick, MD, is a dysfunctionally managed, culturally monolithic, racially homogenous, organizationally siloed, unremarkable, and antiquated Federal IT services contractor lacking modern day technology and software (think Deltek, SharePoint, MS Project, MS Teams, etc.) to truly offer its customers and employees an alleged "competitive edge." Standard Operating Procedures are non-existent. Internal IT design diminishes economies of scale as cross departmental and company information is neither digitally accessible nor shared, which limits collaboration, teamwork, and flexibility to respond the ever changing needs of SCCI's dwindling customer base. The office is a dump. Employee "break room" is a shabby, poorly appointed space with a card playing table, two dingy chairs, an industrial sized trash can that constantly overflows and a disk sink that doubles as a utility sink which is shared by housekeeping (how unsanitary!). The three unisex bathrooms are mucky, odorous, and riddled with urine. Staff work spaces are filled to the brim with bankers boxes of accounting, HR, and contractual paperwork as a modern record management and filing system does not exist. The limited number of company laptops are hoarded by the relatives and favorites of the owners of SCCI, making it impossible for those without laptops to work from home during sickness, inclement, or COVID. Salaries are the lowest in the industry despite annual revenue of upwards of $100M. SCCI offers seven company holidays--you can forget about celebrating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Juneteenth--although more reputable contractors observe OMB's 11 Federal holidays. Modest 401k is laughable; no educational assistance except for employees who are relatives of the owners of SCCI. My advice to prospective employees is steer clear of SCCI at all costs.

Pros

Great people, great place to work

Cons

Each team is built based on project contracts (usually lasting around 5 years). So if the the project ends up not getting renewed, then the whole team will need to either disband or get redistributed.

Pros

Friendly people, flexible work hours,

Cons

Career development not an investment for them, treated more like a temp agency because of retention issues. Employee benefits not great, salary isn’t competitive at all.
