Pros
They have a great infrastructure and online resources
Cons
I worked for SCP who just received a contract for a new hospital and they were tasked to run their new ER. There was tremnendous pressure to make this particular contract since they had embarrassing had another contract stolen from them by another company and had lost their foot hold in the southeast Texas region. Because of this, corners were cut to ensure that they could staff the ED with minimal personnel. This included overworking their radiologists and tech to the point that they were understaffed. Readings would be delayed. They would send in their Corporate representatives under the guise of “helping with the EMR” but were actually their to spy on the physicians and APP. I felt that my license was in jeopardy since they did not have a protocol in dealing with psychiatric patients (which the corporate spy quickly pointed out to me). The hospital themselves were reluctant to properly staff the personnel which included US techs who did not want to come in when they were on call (rule out torsion, ectopic, etc). I made my complaints known to the administration and SCP and I was abruptly pulled off the schedule without due process. In my entire career as an ED physician have I heard of such unprofessional behaviors.
