Pros
Gives you the unique opportunity to work on many labor campaigns all over the country. You also meet many great workers and people in genral. The benefits are nice and being a part of the movement can help you spread your wings elsewhere.
Cons
The job is very dembanding. There is no respect for their employee what-so-ever. Management will throw you under the bus with lies if they think there is a potential for them to get in trouble. They have unreal expectations and expect you to drop your entire life for them (not the movement). They treat organizer like crap. You have great benefits but they will not give you the time off to see a doctor and if you do they will hold it against you. Also be aware that they use people. The have a reputation of practicing the same union busting they preach against so their organizer union, UUR, is to a degree useless. SEIU even fired the President of UUR for make inroads for organizers. How they treat their employee will come back to bite them and looks really bad on the movement. This is not a union. It is a corporation that waste union dues because of a lack of real communication from Internation to Locals. I would not view this as a serious job.
