Pros
The travel was pretty nice and the training was world class. Very diverse company with people at every location from one part of the world or another. The discounted stock purchase program was a great perk.
Cons
The company is so huge that employees are seen as a number rather than a human being. The paperwork is horrible, repetitive and unnecessary, sometimes lasting longer than a job itself. Management frequently made horrible decisions with respect to product line direction. Despite all the lip service made to safety, the one serious concern I had brought up regarding it had intense push back from management. Driving a company truck is a horrible experience with their driver monitors. Products I ran were not competitive versus equipment from other service companies. Promised promotions seem denied frequently, even after fulfilling that promotion's requirements. SLB has no qualms for withholding job bonuses for very minor or no fault failures.
