Pros

Making your schedule, gas reimbursement, pay is ok, company phone and laptop, casual dress code, PTO and most holidays off, working remotely

Cons

If you don’t enjoy driving all day, going from business to business asking if they are hiring, and supporting people at work which feels like babysitting...this job is not for you. You must be willing to work with individuals with disabilities and go into their homes sometimes. These are pros or cons depending on what you like. Communicating with my manager was difficult. We had monthly meetings and we would discuss the same thing every meeting leaving problems unsolved. She also missed a few scheduled meetings. There is a weekend rotation so you can work from 0-20 hours in a weekend and weekend shifts are usually only supports. Although you can make your own schedule, your manager can call you at any time and change it. Tuition reimbursement is only available to management positions but there aren’t many management positions open. Training is long but paid (minimum wage).

Pros

It was an amazing experience at first.I thought Spin was a great fit and a chance to expand my career is ECE field.I really felt like I belonged at SPIN and everything was great. I received a promotion and I was doing great working with the kids in Early Intervention.

Cons

Management and certain teachers are rude and demeaning. A special needs teacher told me that I had ADHD and that I should go home and google it. The day that I was suspended my manager told me to stop texting certain people so I did. I was not given any warning before suspension then I was fired.Apparently it’s okay to bully co-workers about their disabilities. Management only cares about certain people who have degrees. I was mistreated and wrongfully terminated.Spin helps a lot of people with disabilities and the impact that this organization has on people’s lives is amazing. When I was in Elementary and High school I struggled with a learning disability. I can understand what some of this children are going through and I really connect with the children in early intervention. I am deeply disappointed and feel extremely betrayed by SPIN.
