Jack of all trades...master of none - Senior Fund Accountant SS&C Employee Review

Pros

Flexibility...but not because they want to provide it...because they are so under staffed I can do what I want and they won't fire me. I reached a point where I take my liberties when I need to and as long as I get my work done management does not seem to care.

Cons

Managements attitude is appalling. It's clear mid level managers themselves would rather be elsewhere but are trapped. No body cares so I stopped caring. I'll be the clients care... Employees (fund accountants...not sales) are out right threatened to get clients to complete quarterly CRM survey "or else"...."you don't want to be on this list". I'm going to laugh when they get sued for harassment. Despite having an internal organizational system the company has put little effort into truly getting all divisions on-boarded. The word "user friendly" is oddly not in their vocabulary despite being an IT software firm. At SS&C you have to figure everything out for yourself, which I guess is one way to do it, but I'm pretty sure every other company and academic institution already has proved its the most inefficient way possible. Funny this company whose sole focus is increased profits does not understand this and oddly thinks they are saving money in the end.

Pros

Fully remote, my position was no phones except for the rare outbound call to verify information

Cons

The sheer amount of work versus the pay was not ideal. Micromanagement. The pay is very low compared to industry standards, use of pto (or unlimited pto) had a lot of scrutiny about it's use in general and nosey management wanting to know why you needed even a single day off.
