Pros
- Employees at all levels really believed in the Mission. I worked a lot with front-line staff and executives, and I was surprised that the Mission wasn't just lip service. Serving the underserved is a priority. - The overall strategy on how to take better care of patients is more realistic than that of BJC. SSM knows how to prioritize and actually focus on what we are able to change (physicians actually communicate with patients electronically for example).
Cons
- HR is impossible to get a hold of. Getting answers about benefits or anything HR-ish is not possible. - Too top heavy. Add more front-line staff vs. adding managers, senior managers, directors, executive directors, administrators, AVP, VP, SVP, chiefs... it's a waste and costs too much for too little value.
