Zero training
Zero feedback
Zero support
I was in my position for almost exactly 8 weeks, and during this time I received zero training, little to no feedback, and absolutely zero support. During my interview, I was very honest about my level of experience, and let them know that I had never used the systems that they use at STCU.
I was hired, and for lack of a better term, thrown in the deep end and told to swim. My supervisor sat with me and worked my files two or three times, and spent one day with me in a training room, and I sat with an underwriter a few times for job shadowing. That was all the "training" that I received.
Two weeks prior to being let go, my supervisor told me that they thought I had more experience than I did when I was hired, but they wanted me to be successful and weren't going to just "let me go". In the two weeks that followed I received feedback from underwriters and loan officers telling me that my files were improving, and they themselves were frustrated with the lack of training in the department. I did not hear anything from management during this time.
I went to work for this company based on their reputation for treating members and employees well, and they 100% set me up to fail. They gave me no notice, and let me go at the end of my shift two weeks before Christmas, with no severance pay, and all they would say is "It's not a good fit" and "Your experience level isn't what we thought it was."
