Pros
- Exposure to practically every facet of Supply Chain and Supplier Management. - Plenty of cross-functional engagement to see the larger picture of the impact your work has. - Opportunity to participate in business case, strategy. - Corporate sponsored Kaizen events where everyone participates in continuous improvement projects. - Compensation is fair for entry level role / early career. - My boss was fair and reasonable considering the environment and negotiated workload the best he was able to. - A lot of smart people. - Open HR department.
Cons
- Extraordinarily understaffed for such a process/document heavy environment. - Trust can be low amongst coworkers, even ones that you like. - High stress. - Low morale. - Lots of turnover, like an entire department of 6. 2 times in 3 years! - Follow through on CRITICAL projects is low to nonexistent due to excessive workload. - Relatively low tech IT infrastucture/ERP system, Supply Chain not agile enough to respond and adapt to changing marketplace conditions. - Very low teamwork.
