Toxic clown show. Run away. No one at this company has ever worked in a respectable real restaurant or bar. It’s a group of tight knit friends for life with massive childish egos and undeserved sense of entitlement who have no clue how to run a restaurant or bar. The food and cocktails are on par with an Applebee’s. They are so concerned about “being respected” they make poor decision after poor decision based on their “position of power” that negatively effects the business and when they see the poor results, they blame everyone but themselves. Gaslighting, harassment, blatant lies, and abuse. Sexual harassment dealt with by more bullying. The average staffer lasts about 6-8 months. They fabricate stories and throw employees under the bus to cover for their poor decisions daily. They lie about the job descriptions to get people to work for them. Pathological liars and narcissists. To add insult to injury, grossly incompetent people. Not one sentence that came out of their mouths ever made sense. Ask them for a resume and you will see they have no business running an “upscale establishment” they are cheesy chain restaurant people They have a horrible reputation for hiring people under false pretenses and then changing their job description once hired. They are just plain stupid. It’s a toxic fear based “GOTCHA “Culture. Employees don't have the tools they need to do their jobs. Employees are set up for failure. Training programs on all levels are convoluted and pedantic. Weeks of training that doesn't prepare employees and instead sets them p for failure. The narrative is “The employees are morons who don’t know how to do anything, they are lazy and incompetent”. Undeserved sense of entitlement and ego trumps quality every time. They micromanage projects they have no business being involved in. Every time their poor decision blow up in their faces, they make up stories and blames other people, pretending they had nothing to do with the decisions. These people are not mentally stable, they are manipulative and abusive. Office culture is screaming, yelling, foul language and gas lighting. Square One is a Revolving door. Dozens of people leave or get fired on bad terms every couple of months and those who get fired, get fired for refusing to put up with their abuse. Monthly discussions about their horrible employee retention have the same conclusion “they were stupid and didn’t know the business “ They have invented their own convoluted office language that no one uses in the hospitality business. They have an aversion to anyone who knows more than they do coming in to raise the bar. Even though they claim that’s what they want. They would rather serve crunchy oysters, subpar food, and the cocktail menu they stole from the Crunkelton in North Carolina. Square One Holding is a joke. They love to instigate childish drama. They are miserable nasty people who treats the staff horribly and creates problems so they can look like they are doing their jobs. They go from self-induced fabricated crisis to self-induced fabricated crisis instead of doing anything for the company that is helpful. Nepotism trumps merit. RUN AWAY.
