Do Not Recommend - Licensed Practical Nurse SUN Behavioral Health Employee Review

Pros

Pays more than most places but has an oddly suspicious pay range between staff that should be nearly the same pay.

Cons

Everything else. Dangerously understaffed, management is unsupportive and under qualified. They accept patients solely based on their insurance, whether they are appropriate for the hospital or not. Doctors will reject a patient and management will go behind their back and accept them anyways. Hostile work environment. Unit staff alone could probably have this place in better shape but management prevents that. They promote based on who knows who. I cannot stress enough how terrible this place is currently. We, unit staff, have made several reports to Joint Commission but they’re fooled by a front when they come in.

Pros

Pay is probably the highest I’ve found in the area. Night shift was chill and laid back Night shift supervisors were amazing :) Getting to help this type of population

Cons

Management - “C” Suite. Every. Single. One. They will fire you for no reason and have your job filled the next day You are only a warm body to them Day shift staff are extremely hard to work with… they have no team work Policy and Procedures change hourly I have seen I believe 5 different CEOs/C Suite employees since I’ve started Working short staffed which makes for a potentially dangerous shift Techs act like they are higher than a nurse. We do not really help anyone, we are treated like a hotel and will admit almost anyone just to fill a bed for $$$
