Cons
The politically correct acronym for SWBC stands for Sisters, Wives, Brothers, and Cousins. Three things are guaranteed to exist in their organizational environment, 1. Nepotism SWBC referral program breeds more of this. The ideal to hire great employees is placed second to hiring family which leads to number 2. 2. Cronyism By its true definition, management appoints friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications. Allot of promotions are given to employees based on personal loyalty and friendships outside of work. There was allot of gambling behind the scenes which also lead to questionable promotions and inconsistency of fairness in the area of corrective action to employees. HR blindly ignored allot of this. Being a yes sir and yes mam got you promoted quicker. Lots of mico management and yearly evaluations was designed poorly. 3. (The worst of the two) Fraternization between employees and management. This is why the acronym listed above. Its is the reason why 1 and 2 exist so blatantly and frequently. Didn't matter which department, Customer Service, LPO, or IT. Lots of affairs took place, management messing around with employees below them, married employees having affairs. Allot of emphasis given on personal relationships outside of work and not enough accountability to management. Lots of layoffs due to lack of proper leadership and training. Lost major accounts and the company's credibility took a hit. The organization's "tardiness" or "occurrence policy" was deplorable to say the least. Some of the management didn't know how to properly enforce the rules, others made up rules. The service center was rarely cleaned; most people such as myself got sick due to poor cleaning conditions or allowing sick employees to continue to work in the building. HR has this issue of not properly letting prospect candidates know whether he or she got the job. In one case, the recruitment team didn't even give the courtesy to send an email or a letter indicating their decision. Very tacky service by the HR department. Another issue is the career growth at SWBC. Some positions require degrees and the company will promote this. Their tuition reimbursement amount isn't allot to be desired. The major issue is the consequence of getting a degree may put you closer to the chopping block called lay offs. The company got rid of tenured loyal employees, some that have degrees as well just to keep cheap pay employees. LOTS OF WHISTLE BLOWERS. No work/personal life balance. Lots of Overtime and weekend work. Many days of being burnt out.
