Pros
$20/hr plus an outstanding benefits package AND tuition benefits From what I experienced, abundant ability to request overtime hours…a CNA can easily gross $55k+ annually working here.
Cons
Abundance of hours is due to consistent turnover Aging facility. Honestly, the physical condition of this location leads me to believe it has at best 10 operating years left unless major major investments are made. And it just doesn’t make sense to invest here instead of selling off the property to build a modernized structure nearby. (I see a closure or a big relocation in the future). You have to find your niche at this location, there isn’t much professionalism or cooperation unit to unit. Lots of cliques that feed off one another to their own detriment (believe it or not it’s the nurses and managers who are cliquey, not the CNAs) Overall, saber is a company on the rise. For anyone who wants the company to pay for their BSN, avoid this location and/or work nights to avoid office politics while you study. Saber is very much a company with a future, but I don’t see much of one at this location as they prioritize the egos of past leadership who somehow are still on board over emerging talent. I’m not sure corporate has a handle on this location yet. It’s still a small town nursing home who’s giving too much sway to the old guard.
