Pros

I enjoyed learning about the security system and how it operates.

Cons

They lure you in with the prospect of making a bunch of money, but that is entirely based on sales for commission and the amount of jobs that you get in a week. Pay can be good for installations, but for service calls you get $18.75 for the service. It doesn't matter if that service takes 6 hours you get a flat $18.75 +mileage. Then when you aren't trained properly and you mess something up instead of taking responsibility and saying "oh our bad we didn't communicate that correctly" they instead take a huge chunk of your paycheck. Which wouldn't be a problem if I was making $1,000 in a day, but most of the houses are brand new just bought houses and who wants to spend thousands on a security system immediately after buying a house. And I went a full week with only getting 3 jobs and only one of them was an install. The sales tactics that most of the employees use made me feel so slimy and gross at the end of the day. I watched a guy sell $1,500 worth of sensors to an old woman who explicitly said she did not want any sensors. Oh and also good luck having a consistent schedule or even knowing where or what your job is the next day because they don't update your schedule for the next day until 5-8pm.

Pros

An eye opening experience to the world of home security. I enjoyed the team I worked with. I valued all their insights and I appreciated the effort they took to keep me motivated. No supervision and I felt like I was running my own franchise.

Cons

Zero base pay and I was not prepared for how much commission would be taxed. The hours were awful: M-W heading into work at 11am and not being free until after 8pm. Thursday and Friday knocking doors from 1:30pm to after 8:30pm and having to work Saturday morning too. Felt like I worked for free and there was no clear path to becoming an adequate sales person. No training to speak of.
