Pros
-on the road all day with nobody looking over your shoulder -get to take home your van -they give you most of the tools you need (but.... you're responsible for them!) -get to enjoy a nice day in the warm months -if you like cars, you get to work on them everyday -you meet lots of people from all backgrounds -never in one spot all day -no two days are the same
Cons
-wages are laughable; independent glass shops pay almost double with half the stress/BS!! -job scheduling is ridiculous and inconsistent -late afternoon add-ons!!! -not uncommon to have hour-long drives between jobs -gotten too "corporate" -they'll fire one person for doing an unsafe install, but look the other way if a senior tech does it -only way to make a good living is to do "x" number of jobs, which sometimes isn't realistic -required to clock a lunch....but never have time to actually take one -corporate stresses it isn't about the numbers..... but..... they constantly judge you by your numbers (which isn't necessarily accurate) -freeze your ass off in the winter months and drive in all weather -end up doing jobs in bad neighborhoods -your bonus depends on surveys with only "9's or 10's"... get anything less, and it screws up your tech score -you're gonna be working Xmas Eve, Easter weekend, and New Year's Eve unless you put in for them early
